Kaapsehoop

Kaapsehoop, situated within the Mpumalanga Escarpment, is a picturesque village surrounded by many marked walks and trails. Habitats range from montane grassland and rocky outcrops to montane forest patches.
The Kaapsehoop area offers protection to the globally threatened Blue Swallow and is designated as an Important Bird Area.
Other specials include Cape Grassbird, Olive Woodpecker, Knysna Turaco, Cape Rock-thrush, Chorister Robin-chat, Red-throated Wryneck and Drakensberg Prinia.
Directions
On the N4 from Pretoria/Johannesburg, turn right at Sappi Ngodwana Mill to Kaapsehoop.
From Nelspruit on the N4, turn left at the Formula 1 Hotel on the Old Airport Road and continue straight for 27 km, climbin steadily up the mountain.
